Renew or Cancel Your Membership

NOTE: YOU CANNOT RENEW YOUR MEMBERSHIP USING YOUR USERNAME AND PASSWORD FOR THE OLD MEMBER SYSTEM. YOU MUST REGISTER WITH MEMBER JUNGLE BY USING A NEW USERNAME AND PASSWORD FIRST.  CLICK TO LEARN HOW TO REGISTER


 

Members will receive an email 28 days, 14 days and 2 days before and 90 days after the expiry date notifying them that the membership is due. 

Within 90 days after the expiry date, you can renew your membership by logging in with your current username and password. After this period of grace, your membership is cancelled and if you wish to resume your membership in the future, you will need to join again. Please note, this will break your membership longevity. 

 

How To Renew A Membership

Steps

1.    You will receive an email reminding you your membership is due for renewal. Please note, if you do not have an email address, contact us.

2.     To renew online, click on the link in the email ".....to renew your membership today" to start the renewal process. To renew using the Member Jungle app, click here.

3.     Choose your membership subscription and click START RENEWAL

Please note, your auto-renewal payment in the old system has not been carried over into the new system. This is your chance to review your payment method as now you have two choices involving card payments. If you want to carry over auto-renewal, choose a membership fee with Auto-Renew in the name. If you still want to use your card but manage it every renewal, you can enter the card details, save them and pay a membership fee with Manual Pay in the name. 4.      Next, update any personal information and SUBMIT

5.    You will next be shown the donation options for donations to the Conservation Fund. They are $10, $25, $50, and $200.

Please note you can click combinations of donations to make different amounts (e.g., $10 x 2 = $20, $200 x 5 = $1,000).

If you wish to contribute another amount, please email by the Treasurer.

Donations go towards studies on bird species, their habitats and conservation. Calls for the application of conservation research grants are made in March and September each year. To read more click here.

Payments-Donations

  6.    Your membership level settings are set for approval of renewals as cash, cheque and direct deposit manual payments remain pending. The Membership Team will approve these payments.

  7.   Once approved you will receive an email of renewal success. 

 


Payment Security

Member Jungle allows you to process online payments for membership, events and the online store. Our payment gateway is powered by the Stripe Connect gateway and is completely PCI compliant, which means that no credit card information is ever stored on your own site and all payment data is secure.


How to Cancel a Membership

You must email Birds SA for your wish to cancel your membership. You receive your first renewal notice 28 days before the expiry date If you do not email us and your payment method is an automatic renewal, your card will be debited until we receive notice from you.

Please note we do not reimburse remaining months of a membership.To send an email, please contact us. If you chose auto renewal of your membership, it will not debit your card if we receive your email before the expiry date. Once we receive your email, we set your membership to expired and archived/delete your membership information.
